Deering is accessible year-round by plane. A state-owned gravel airstrip, with a gravel crosswind strip, enables flights by several Kotzebue air services. Fuel supplies and goods are delivered yearly by barge. Small boats, ATVs, and snow machines are used for local travel. Winter trails are available to Candle and Buckland.
